An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) The Cat and the Canary, the 1939 Elliott Nugent romantic horror mystery comedy ("The picture that will give your goose pimples goose pimples!"; "Chills, horrors and lots of fun!"; "Based on the Stage Play by John Willard") starring Bob Hope, Paulette Goddard, John Beal, Douglass Montgomery, Gale Sondergaard, Elizabeth Patterson, George Zucco, William Abbey (as "The Cat", a homicidal maniac!), and Nydia Westman. Note that this was a remake of the 1927 movie of the same name directed by Paul Leni, except that it has had comedy injected, to make a suitable movie for Bob Hope! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: good. Someone once very lightly started to fold the card across the middle, and thought better of it, but there are faint creases in parts of that area. There are pinholes and smudges around the edges. There are a few tiny brown stains in the borders, with smudges in the left solid black border area. There is a stain in the middle of the woman's skirt, three pinholes near the center of the card, and some scuffs scattered in the image. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back! In spite of the card's defects, it still displays pretty well just as it is, and of course, it could have restoration performed. Learn More about condition grades
