An Original Vintage Linenbacked French Sports Poster (measures 23" x 29 3/4") (Learn More)

Grand Match de Rugby (literally translates to "Big Rugby Game"), the circa 1930s French sports poster (a stock poster to be used when there was an upcoming rugby match, with a blank area where they could write the specifics of each match) featuring art of two rugby teams in mid-game. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had three horizontal folds and there were some tears on the foldlines, including a semi-circular tear near the center of the top foldline. There were many creases and tears around the edges of the poster and smudges and scuffs scattered throughout the poster. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above.
