MARCH OF DIMES MARCH OF DIMES billboard advertising poster OR search current auctions Auction History Result 3d065 MARCH OF DIMES billboard '40s boy with polio asking people to contribute & lend him a hand! Date Sold 12/18/2016Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Tri-Folded Billboard Advertising Poster (measures approximately 9' x 20') (Learn More) The March of Dimes Foundation is a nonprofit organization founded in 1938 by Franklin D. Roosevelt. Initially known as the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis to combat polio, the March of Dimes has since expanded to promote the general health of both pregnant women and babies! If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this billboard poster was printed in 12 sections designed to overlap. Also note this poster was folded in a way that makes it resemble a tri-folded six-sheet (only much larger, of course, as there are more sections). But the length and width of the folded poster is just about the same as that of a folded six-sheet or three-sheet. This means that this poster needs to be sent in an oversized flat package, which will measure roughly 16" x 38", and approximately 2" high, and it will cost more to send than a regular sized package. Condition: fair to good. There is some light water staining scattered throughout the poster. Otherwise, it has fairly minor fold and border wear. Please look at our super-sized image to get a sense of the exact condition of this poster, and do not bid on it thinking it is in better condition than it is. Still, it is surely an incredibly rare poster, and perhaps the only surviving example. One would prefer to find a much better condition one, but that might not be an option!
