An Original 1952 (from the first Danish release) Vintage Theatrical Folded Danish Movie Poster (measures 24 1/4" x 33" [62 x 84 cm]) (Learn More) No Place for Jennifer, the 1950 Henry Cass English family relationship effects-of-divorce-on-children melodrama ("Why is there no place for Jennifer?"; "Based on the novel 'No Difference To Me' by Phyllis Hambledon") starring Leo Genn, Roasmund John, Beatrice Campbell, Guy Middleton, and Janette Scott (billed as "introducing Janette Scott as 'Jennifer'"; in the title role). Note that this was one of the earliest serious looks at how the growing rate of divorce was affecting the children of those divorcing parents. It starred excellent English actors, and Janette Scott, who was 10 years old at the time, gave a great performance as the daughter. She would appear in several more movies in the 1950s. She is best remembered for her starring role in "Day of the Triffids" in 1963, which was immortalized in the lyrics of the song from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" that says "And I really got hot When I saw Janette Scott fight a triffid that spits poison and kills." She divorced her first husband and married Mel Torme in 1966, which pretty much ended her career, as she quickly had two children. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: K.
