Schoedsack Africa New York City giant ape fantasy romantic love triangle adventure horror thriller ("'The most awesome thriller of all time' the one and only"; "Not beast.. Not human.... Not devil.. But all three magnified! Raging.. Roaring.. Crushing.. Killing.."; "Strangest story ever conceived by man!"; "Out-leaping the maddest imaginings! Out-thrilling the wildest thrills!"; "See the living, fighting monsters of Creation's dawn rediscovered in the world today!"; "See the death-fight between giant ape and prehistoric dinosaur... the most amazing combat since the world began!"; "See the ape as big as a battleship wrecking New York!"; "Unique..! Thrilling! Startling!"; "From an idea conceived by Edgar Wallace & Merian C. Cooper"; based on the story by Edgar Wallace, with incredible special effects by Willis O'Brien) starring Fay Wray, Robert Armstrong (as Carl Denham), Bruce Cabot, Frank Reicher, and Sam Hardy NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that for this 1956 re-release, RKO created this really wild full-color artwork image of a rampaging Kong (similar to that which was on the original 1933 six-sheet) with the great tagline "NEVER TOPPED! NEVER EQUALED! the one and only KING KONG", and this is one of the best King Kong re-release posters there is (and it is within the reach of most collectors, whereas first release King Kong posters are not!). Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: very good. The poster had some tiny bits of surface paper loss on small parts of the folds. It had pinholes around the edges, with thin strips of tape in each blank corner, where the poster was once attached to a mat. There are some smudges and tiny stains in the borders. The NSS number at lower right has a pencil mark through it, and below it, a 1957 NSS was handwritten in (no doubt because this re-release lasted over a year, because of how popular the movie was). Most of the above defects are in the blank borders, and the poster will display wonderfully just as it is, or certainly, one could choose to have restoration performed to the above minor defects. Either way, the new owner will have a wonderful poster to display on their wall! Learn More about condition grades
