An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Half-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 22" x 28") (Learn More) The Wagons Roll At Night, the 1941 Ray Enright romantic love triangle circus lion tamer melodrama ("For the millions who cheered 'They Drive by Night'!"; "A thousand thrills are yours when... The Wagons Roll At Night"; "Anything can happen at night! Reckless men and women... a city on wheels... and a new adventure beyond the headlights on every turn of the road!"; "Suggested by a story by Francis Wallace"; not one of Bogart's best; he is a circus lion tamer who gets involved romantically with a pretty girl, and another lion tamer loves her too, which sets the scene of men being mauled by lions!) starring Humphrey Bogart, Sylvia Sidney, Joan Leslie, Eddie Albert, Sig Ruman, Cliff Clark, and Jack Mower. Note that this movie is a remake of 1937's "Kid Galahad" with the setting changed from boxing to a traveling circus, and Humphrey Bogart appeared in both movies (albeit, in drastically different roles)! Also note that star Sylvia Sidney had been a major leading lady in the early to mid 1930s, but she had "retired" from movies for two years before returning to make this movie. Apparently, movie paper was originally printed giving Miss Sidney fourth billing, and it seems she strongly objected to that, because a studio-issued snipe was created that changed her billing to second (we have seen a one-sheet and a title card with this corrective snipe glued on them)! Important Added Info: Note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good. many creases and smudges alogn the foldlines; long diagonal creases in the upper right corner and lower left corner; many smudges and stains in the white background areas; around 12 small circular holes near the top and bottom of the non-border part of the poster (two of them are in Bogart's hat and one is in Albert's hair, but none are in the faces); the credits at lower right are a large paper snipe placed over the original credits (perhaps Bogart was given lead billing over Sidney in the revised version) Learn More about condition grades
