An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Some Like It Hot, the classic 1959 Billy Wilder (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) romantic musical cross-dressing drag crime comedy ("Hot!!!"; about two out of work musicians who happen to witness the St. Valentine's Day Massacre in Chicago, and they need to leave town in a hurry, but the only jobs they can get is with an all-girl band, and they dress in drag, and one of the band members is Marilyn Monroe!) starring Marilyn Monroe ("and her bosom companions"), Tony Curtis, Jack Lemmon (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), George Raft, Pat O'Brien, and Joe E. Brown (the great star of 1920s and 1930s slapstick comedy, who practically steals this movie with a wonderful comic performance and an unforgettable final line!) Important Added Info: Note that we sold this same exact poster in our previous folded one-sheet auction. It was returned to us by the purchaser, likely because he did not thoroughly read our description and also look closely at our super-sized image. We have expanded the condition description so there should be no confusion as to exactly what condition the poster is in. The poster DOES have clear defects, but they ARE the sort that respond quite well to expert restoration, and after a simple linenbacking, this poster will look great, and there truly will be little restoration within the image area. Condition: good. There are pinholes, some creases, and smudges in the corners and paper loss in the top left corner. There is tape in each corner and in the center of each border (where the poster was once taped to a wall) and there is 4" of separation at the right end of the bottom foldline, and a 2" tear just below the left end of the bottom foldline. There is a 3" clean tear in the middle of the left half of the bottom foldline, and a 1/2" tear in the middle of the bottom blank border. There are small vertical tears in the right of the bottom foldline, and one vertical tear in the right of the top vertical foldline. There are two tiny areas of surface paper loss in the top of Monroe's chest 1" below her chin. There are a few smudges and tiny dot stains scattered in the image, mostly in the solid white and red background areas. While this poster does have many minor defects, they are the sort that respond quite well to professional restoration. After a simple linenbacking by a talented professional, this poster will look great, and there will be little paint restoration anywhere in the image! Learn More about condition grades
