Date Sold 1/24/2021Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Pressbook (pb; measures 9 1/4" x 13 1/2" [23 x 34 cm]; 42 pages) (Learn More) If I Had a Million, the classic 1932 James Cruze, H. Bruce Humberstone, Ernst Lubitsch, Norman Z. McLeod, Stephen Roberts, William A. Seiter, Norman Taurog, and Lothar Mendes all-star comedy ("They're all in - If I Had A Million"; "They're all in it!"; based on the book 'Windfall' by Robert Andrews) starring Gary Cooper, George Raft, Wynne Gibson, Charles Laughton, Jack Oakie, Frances Dee, Charlie Ruggles, Alison Skipworth, W.C. Fields, Mary Boland, Roscoe Karns, May Robson, Gene Raymond, Lucien Littlefield, and Richard Bennett. Note that this was an all-star movie put together by Paramount wherein seven famous directors each directed a segment of the movie (the plot was about a multi-millionaire who left a million dollars each to total strangers; this movie was the basis for the very popular TV series "The Millionaire"). Most of Paramount's top stars appeared in the seven segments. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this Paramount pressbook (and two others) was removed from a bound volume. While all three of the pressbooks are uncut, they seem to all be missing pages, between 2 and 4 pages from each, but it might be more. Those pages might have been removed before they were added to the bound volume. Obviously, one would prefer to find a complete example of this pressbook, but Paramount pressbooks from this time are beyond rare, and one might wait for many years to find that better condition example! Note that we have provided an image of the front and back covers of this pressbook (if the back cover is not the poster page, we photographed the interior poster page), and of course, the winner of this auction will receive the entire single pressbook we are auctioning (plus any supplements or heralds described above)! Condition: fair, WITH CUTS. As noted above, the pressbook was removed from a bound volume and we believe it is surely missing at least two pages, and possibly more. In addition, the pages are quite fragile around the edges, and there are some tears and paper loss at the bottom of the first few pages. Please do not bid on it unless you can accept this.
