eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 1a1154 DRACULA 1sh R1951 Tod Browning, vampire Bela Lugosi behind web & attacking girl, very rare! Date Sold 10/31/2021Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. A 1951 Re-Release Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Dracula, the classic 1931 Tod Browning Universal vampire monster horror thriller ("The Greatest of all Horror Thrillers"; "The Vampire Thriller!"; "The story of the strangest passion the world has ever known!"; "Do vampires really exist?"; "From the famous novel & play by Bram Stoker") starring Bela Lugosi (in the title role as Count Dracula), David Manners, Helen Chandler, Dwight Frye (if there had been a Best Supporting Actor Academy Award in 1931, Frye would have surely won it for his wild over-the-top portrayal as Renfield!), Edward Van Sloan (as Professor Abraham Van Helsing), Frances Dade, and Herbert Bunston NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned two examples of this 1951 re-release one-sheet, and those were 15 years ago and 19 years ago (and they sold for $4,759 and $3,606)! Of course, since that time, prices on posters like these have risen drastically, and the first release Dracula one-sheet is now at least six figures, making this poster (with a completely different and really cool image) a really wonderful alternative! Condition: very good. The poster has 1" of separation at the top crossfold and no separation at the other two crossfolds. It has a light partial extra vertical fold running down the center of the poster 1 1/2" to the left of the regular one. There are creases in a diamond shape around the top and bottom crossfolds. There are some creases and tiny tears in parts of the borders with a few tiny stains in the top blank border. There are just a few pinholes in the top and bottom of the poster and three tiny pieces of tape on the top blank border. Certainly, none of the above defects are very significant and one could display this great poster as it is or one might choose to have it linenbacked (it has never had any restoration, other than the pieces of tape described above)!
