An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Zane Grey's Riders of the Purple Sage, the 1931 Hamilton MacFadden cowboy western revenge melodrama (based on the novel by Zane Grey; about a Texas Ranger whose sister and niece are kidnapped, and he spends the entire movie trying to find them and punish the man who kidnapped them; at the climax, he finds the man, kills him, and runs off with his sister and niece to a secret hidden place) starring George O'Brien, Marguerite Churchill, Noah Beery Sr., Yvonne Pelletier, James Todd, and Stanley Fields. Note that this was considered Zane Grey's greatest novel. It had been previously filmed in 1918, and 1925, and was filmed again in 1941 with Robert Montgomery! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this lobby card is extremely rare. While we have auctioned several different scene cards from this movie, we have never before auctioned this lobby card! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: very good. There is a tiny bit of paper loss in the top left blank corner, with a very few faint smudges around the edges. There is an extremely tiny crease in Churchill's cheek below her eye, but it is not at all noticeable from the front of the card. There are two faint vertical lines in the top center of the image, affecting the hair and forehead of O'Brien and the Churchill's hair, but they are minor printing defects (they were within the negative of the image they reproduced for this card). Otherwise, the card is in nice condition. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back! Learn More about condition grades
