Zanuck's The Purple Heart, the 1944 Lewis Milestone World War II (WWII) Japan military POW (prisoner of war) airplane aviation bomber melodrama ("Now it can be told - The astounding drama behind the headlines when 'Yanks Bomb Tokyo'"; "The astounding drama behind the headlines when Yanks bombed Tokyo!"; "Written for the screen by Jerome Cady"; "Technical adviser Otto Tolischus"; produced by Darryl F. Zanuck) starring Dana Andrews, Richard Conte, Farley Granger, Kevin O'Shea, Don 'Red' Barry, Trudy Marshall, Sam Levene, and Richard Loo. Note that Otto Tolischus was a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist in Tokyo who was imprisoned by the Japanese after the attack on Pearl Harbor. He was released after five months as part of a prisoner exchange, and went on to write two books about his experiences in Japan!

Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned an example of this poster! Note that this is an extremely rare Italian poster printed relatively soon after World War II! Virtually no Italian posters survive from during or right after World War II. Apparently there were many paper shortages in Europe during World War II, resulting in the destruction of almost all posters from before World War II, and also from during the war, and the first few years afterwards.
