An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Italian Four-Panel Movie Poster (4p; measures approximately *) (Learn More)

La Spada e la croce (released in the U.S. in 1960 as "Mary Magdalene"), the 1958 Carlo Ludovico Bragaglia (billed as "C.L. Bragaglia") Italian Biblical religious melodrama ("Spectacle of the Ages!"; "She-Devil... Or Saint?"; "'...and 7 DEVILS were cast forth!'"; "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her."; "Mistress of the King"; "Sweetheart of the Roman"; "Captive of the Bandit") starring Yvonne De Carlo (in the title role as Mary Magdalene), Jorge Mistral, Rossana Podesta, Massimo Serato, Mario Girotti, Andrea Aureli (as Barabbas), Rossana Rory, Philippe Hersent (as Pontius Pilate), Gianna Maria Canale and Marisa Allasio. Note that, at the same time this movie was being made in Italy, another movie, "Le Schiave di Cartagine", was also being made. The other movie, "Le Schiave di Cartagine", was released in the U.S. in 1960 as "The Sword and the Cross", and later in 1960 "La Spada e la Croce" was released as "Mary Magdalene", and it appears that sometimes the two movies have been confused (both about early Christians in Rome, both made in Italy in the late 1950s, and both released in the U.S. in 1960).
