An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card #3 (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Caught, the 1949 Max Ophuls romantic love triangle melodrama ("The Story of a Desperate Woman!"; "The Story of a Desperate Girl."; "A new MGM hit!"; "From the novel 'Wild Calendar' by Libbie Black"; a loose fictionalized version of Howard Hughes' life at the time; a wealthy but crazy man marries a beautiful model and then becomes obsessed with her, keeping her away from the rest of the world; she manages to take a job with a doctor, and she falls in love with him, but her husband gets her back for a while) starring James Mason ("In his first American motion picture"), Barbara Bel Geddes, Robert Ryan, Curt Bois, Art Smith, Natalie Schafer, and Frank Ferguson. Note that Mason was originally slated for the villain's role, but he had been a bad guy in so many of his British films, he successfully lobbied to be the protagonist in his first U.S. film. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: very good. There is a faint brown stain in the upper right border, but the card is otherwise in really nice condition.
