Porgy & Bess, the 1976 - 1977 Jack O'Brien Broadway musical stage play (with music & lyrics by George & Ira Gershwin) starring Clamma Dale (in the title role as Bess), Donnie Ray Albert (in the title role as Porgy), Wilma Shakesnider, Abraham Lind-Oquendo, and Esther Hinds. Note that this play opened at the Houston Grand Opera in Texas before moving to Broadway
