Date Sold 9/4/2022 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. a lot of 3 Universal pressbooks from June Allyson movies. June Allyson (born Eleanor Geisman) was a very likable actress from the 1940s to the 1980s. She was cast over and over as the "good wife", and she tried to break out of that mold playing an incredibly unsympathetic wife in "The Shrike", but the movie failed, and she returned to her good wife roles! Some of her movies include: The Glenn Miller Story, The Three Musketeers, and Executive Suite. She was the daughter of an alcoholic and she was married for a long time to actor Dick Powell, who also was an alcoholic, and sadly, after his death, she became an alcoholic, which caused a custody battle for her children with her own mother. Later in life, she became well remembered for her TV commercials for Depends! She passed away in 2006 at the age of 88. Note that the items in this lot are from 1957. We do not provide a list of these items, but there are images of all of them. Note that we were consigned a number of pressbook bulk lots just before preparing this set of auctions. We just don't have the time to check these pressbooks for cuts. Based on the last group of pressbooks we received from this consignor, there is a very good chance that no more than a handful of these pressbooks would have any cuts, and possibly no more than one or two. HOWEVER, DO NOT BID ON THIS BULK LOT UNLESS YOU CAN ACCEPT THAT SOME OF THEM MAY HAVE CUTS! Condition: good, NO CUTS. Some of the pressbooks were folded and some have separation on the spine and wear around the edges.
