An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Pressbook (pb; measures 11" x 15" [28 x 38 cm]; 36 pages) (Learn More) James Hilton's Random Harvest, the 1942 Mervyn LeRoy (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) World War I (WWI) romantic amnesia melodrama ("Another triumph from Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer - the producers of 'Mrs. Miniver'"; from the novel by James Hilton; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award; with a really wild plot involving a rich man who has total amnesia during World War I and starts his life over again, only to regain his memory) starring Ronald Colman (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), Greer Garson, Philip Dorn, Susan Peters (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film), Henry Travers, Reginald Owen, and Bramwell Fletcher NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned two examples of this pressbook, and one example had cuts and was only in "fair to good" condition. Note that this pressbook was created during the time when MGM (likely in a cost-cutting measure) stopped printing elaborate full-color covers for their pressbooks, and instead solely created several newsprint sections for each movie. It is difficult to know on such movies how many sections were originally created, but there were usually three of them, and if all three are present, then the pressbook is likely complete. Note that we have provided an image of the front and back covers of this pressbook (if the back cover is not the poster page, we photographed the interior poster page), and of course, the winner of this auction will receive the entire single pressbook we are auctioning (plus any supplements or heralds described above)! Also note that this pressbook is complete and uncut! Given that theater owners received pressbooks partly in order to create their newspaper advertising, and quite frequently cut them up for that purpose, it is rare to find a pressbook that IS complete and uncut! Note: We have 17 images of this pressbook, but due to a space limitation, only TEN of the 17 images are displayed above. However, there is a "supersize" link to the right of those images that lets you see the other 7. Condition: good, NO CUTS. The three sections of the pressbook are quite fragile, typical of MGM pressbooks at this time, but it is complete and uncut. Learn More about condition grades
