Date Sold 6/14/2011 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 2 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 11" x 14") (Learn More) On With the Show, the 1929 Alan Crosland all-star musical comedy ("The First 100% natural color, talking, singing, dancing picture") starring Betty Compson, Arthur Lake, Sally O'Neil, Joe E. Brown, Louise Fazenda, Ethel Waters, William Bakewell, Marion & Madeline Fairbanks (billed as "The Fairbanks Twins"), Sam Hardy, The four Covans (a team of tap dancing champions), and "a chorus of 100 dazzling beauties..." Note that this movie not only had full sound, but it also had color (through the use of the 2-color Technicolor process)! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that each of the cards from the set had an inset image of a different poster from the ad campaign (each of the posters were completely different). The two cards offered here have the images of the 24-sheet and one of the 3-sheets. Condition: very good. The card with the circular inset at lower left had no restoration and is in "very good to fine" condition. The card with the 24-sheet image at center has been "starch backed", which means that it was moistened with a special starch solution, attached to a backing, allowed to dry, and then the card had touch up while it was backed, and afterward, the backing was removed. This particular card had pinholes, creases, and tiny tears in the corners, with pinholes in the center of two borders and some minor smudges and scuffs scattered throughout. The card looks great, and it has had truly minor touch up, and best of all, it still completely looks and feels like an unrestored lobby card! Learn More about condition grades
