An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked French Movie Poster (measures 23" x 30 1/2") (Learn More) A Countess from Hong Kong, the 1967 Charles Chaplin (who also wrote the script and composed the music) English/U.S. romantic comedy ("A brilliant gay comedy romance - full of fun!"; "Actually they're perfect strangers... [imagine if they were close friends!]"; "Hilarious... touching... a very great movie!") starring Marlon Brando, Sophia Loren (in the title role as Countess Natascha), Sydney Chaplin, Tippi Hedren, Patrick Cargill, Margaret Rutherford, and Charlie Chaplin (in a cameo role). Note that after this movie did not do well at the box office, Charlie Chaplin retired (although he lived for ten more years, he did not make another movie, either as an actor or as a director). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Leo Kouper Important Added Info: Note that this French poster measures 23" x 30 1/2" and is linenbacked. Also note that this is a rare "country of origin" poster for this French movie! Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had very minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were well restored, OR it had some minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!).
