It's purpose was to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the signing of the United States Declaration Of Independence in 1776, as well as the 50th anniversary of the Centennial International Exhibition of 1876. Note that this poster features Dan Smith art of Columbia (an early symbol of America similar to Uncle Sam) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
