Robert Johnson was a legendary black African American blues singer and musician from the 1920s to the 1930s. He is perhaps best remembered as being the "King of the Delta Blues" and for the legend that he "sold his soul" to the Devil as a crossroads to achieve success. Some of his hits include: Sweet Home Chicago, Cross Road Blues, Hellhound on My Trail, and Love in Vain. Johnson passed away in 1938 under mysterious circumstances at the young age of 27. Accounts of his death wildly differ, ranging from congenital syphilis to poisoning.
