An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Speaking of Animals, the 1941 Paramount comedy short subject talking animal series ("It's the NUTS and I ought to know!"; "It's the funniest picture I've seen IN ALL MY NINE LIVES!"; "You'll howl! Would I give you a bum STEER?"; "Watch the laughs multiply!"; "This short sure HOGS all the laffs!"). If anyone knows more about this short, please e-mail us and we will post it here. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is a "stock" poster created by Paramount for use by theaters showing their comedy shorts. Theaters would order this poster, which had a large blank area at left. Sometimes the studio would overprint the stock poster with a specific short's title, and sometimes the theaters were sent a series of large paper snipes with the titles of specific entries of the series, so the theater could paste in each snipe as needed, thus getting many posters for the price of one. In the case of this poster, the theater that used the poster was sent a studio-issued snipe for one of the shorts, "From A to Zoo", and they neatly glued that snipe in the blank area. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and some tiny tears and fine surface paper loss on parts of the foldlines, with some tiny bits of paper loss in the borders. It had a studio-issued snipe glued to the middle left (see above). Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well!
