A Vintage Autographed Hardcover Book (measures 8 3/4" x 11 1/4" [22 x 29 cm]; 300 pages) (Learn More) Dracula, the classic 1931 Tod Browning Universal vampire monster horror thriller ("The Greatest of all Horror Thrillers"; "The Vampire Thriller!"; "The story of the strangest passion the world has ever known!"; "Do vampires really exist?"; "From the famous novel & play by Bram Stoker") starring Bela Lugosi (in the title role as Count Dracula), David Manners, Helen Chandler, Dwight Frye (if there had been a Best Supporting Actor Academy Award in 1931, Frye would have surely won it for his wild over-the-top portrayal as Renfield!), Edward Van Sloan (as Professor Abraham Van Helsing), Frances Dade, and Herbert Bunston NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this book was published by Philip J. Riley as one of the volumes in his Universal Filmscripts Series. Each of those books was published in a softcover edition, but each was also published in a hardcover edition limited to 100 copies, and each of those was numbered and signed by several people. This volume has been personally autographed (signed) by SIX people: Bela Lugosi Jr., Carla Laemmle, Philip J. Riley, Michael D. Stein, George Turner, AND Ivan Butler, and it has been hand-numbered 13/100! HOWEVER, THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THIS BOOK, A SCIENCE FICTION AUTHOR, MADE THIS BOOK EXTRA SPECIAL BY GLUING A SIGNED 5" X 7" PHOTO OF BELA LUGOSI TO ONE OF THE FIRST INTERIOR BLANK PAGES (see our image)! He also glued in a signed repro of Carla Laemmle to the inside front cover. Our consignor purchased this book from the estate of the science fiction author who originally owned it, and he does not have a certificate of authenticity for the Bela Lugosi signed photo, so we leave it to the bidders to research whether or not they believe the Lugosi signature is authentic (the six people who originally signed the book did so as part of the limited edition, and those are surely authentic). We give the buyer of this item 30 days after the close of the auction to do any additional research on the Lugosi signature. Also note that we have pictured the front cover, the title page, and the interior page that shows the publishing information, and one or more interior 2-page spreads. Note: We have 11 images of the books in this set, but due to a space limitation, only TEN of the 11 images are displayed above. However, there is a "supersize" link to the right of those images that lets you see the other 1. Condition: very good. As noted above, the owner of the book glued two additional signed photos into the book. The book is generally in nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
