An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) The City Under the Sea (released in the U.S. as "War Gods of the Deep"), the 1965 Jacques Tourneur English science fiction (sci-fi) scuba diving underwater city fantasy thriller ("They dared the most fantastic journey that has ever challenged imagination!"; "From Edgar Allan Poe's 'City in the Sea'"; "A fantastic journey to a lost empire one thousand fathoms beneath the sea!") starring Vincent Price, Tab Hunter, Susan Hart, David Tomlinson ("as Harold Tiffin Jones"), and John Le Mesurier NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Reynold Brown Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked and during the backing process, its defects were repaired and it now looks nice. From any distance away, you can't see what restoration was done. It may have had only very minor defects, or it may have had more significant defects that were well restored. It is possible that you can see SOME traces of the restoration from a distance, but if so, we clearly note it below. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). There was tiny paper loss at the top two crossfolds and a 1/2" x 2" area of paper loss at the bottom crossfold. There were creases, tears, and tiny paper loss on some foldlines. There were pinholes, smudges, creases, and areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster. The poster was well linenbacked. From any distance away it looks fine, but from close up, you can see signs of the restoration. Learn More about condition grades
