An Autographed Letter (measures 7 1/4" x 10 1/2" [18 x 27 cm]) (Learn More) Fredric March was a legendary actor from the 1920s to the 1970s, who seamlessly made the transition from leading man to character actor, appearing in a huge number of wonderful movies, and he never gave a bad performance! Some of his movies include: Death Of A Salesman (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film); The Best Years Of Our Lives (winner of the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), Inherit the Wind, Seven Days in May, Les Miserables, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (winner of the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), Design for Living, The Desperate Hours, and A Star Is Born (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film). Note that at a few times in his career, he was billed as "Frederic"! He passed away in 1975 at the age of 77. Important Added Info: Note that this item has been personally autographed (signed) by Fredric March (he is replying to a letter to David Mallery about The Buccaneer, which was released in 1938, so we think this letter is from that time, but of course, it could have been written at a later time). Note that this letter comes from the estate of David Mallery. He was a professor of cinematography at Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia, from the 1960s into the 1990s. He was a founding member of the AFI (American Film Institute), and a member of the Motion Picture Academy. He was a film critic who wrote many reviews for many publications, and hosted a TV show where he interviewed directors, actors, and others involved in the film industry. Because he became personal friends with most of the actors and directors that he corresponded with, it is virtually a certainty that they hand signed their letters to him, because he was a personal friend and not a "fan". Condition: good to very good. The letter had a newspaper clipping glued to the bottom center over the blank area, and it was partially removed (see our image). The entire letter was glued to an album page, but of course, it could be removed from that. Learn More about condition grades
