An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 14" x 22" [36 x 56 cm]) (Learn More) A Woman Rebels, the 1936 Mark Sandrich feminist romantic melodrama (based on a novel by Netta Syrett; set in Victorian England, about a woman who is an early feminist, and who lives alone, is outspoken, and has a job) starring Katharine Hepburn, Herbert Marshall, Elizabeth Allan, Donald Crisp, Doris Dudley, David Manners, and Van Heflin (eighth billed in his first movie!) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The card had been trimmed to 11 3/4" x 17" (it was used as a backing in a frame). Very fortunately, only the far right of the written credits was affected (affecting the end of four words). Some restorer replaced the missing area with pieces from another card and they drew in the missing letters at the end of those four words, and then they painted over the added areas to make them white. This was likely done many years ago, because there is bubbling of whatever was used to paint over that area, and the newly added areas are quite distinguishable from what was there (see our image). The card can either be displayed as it is or additional restoration can be performed, but please read our description above and look at our super-sized image before placing a bid on this poster.
