An Original Vintage Theatrical Deluxe 7 3/4" x 9 3/4" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Emperor Jones, the 1933 Dudley Murphy black African American rags-to-riches romantic melodrama ("From the stage play by Eugene O'Neill"; "Eugene O'Neill's amazing story of the pullman porter who Became a King"; "From the world-famous novel by Ferenc Molnar"; "Screen play by Jo Swerling") starring Paul Robeson (in the title role as Brutus Jones), Dudley Digges, Frank H. Wilson, Fredi Washington (a very light-skinned, very talented black African American actress who refused to try to "pass for white", and who appeared in several important black related movies including "Imitation of Life" and "Black and Tan"; ironically, she had to have her skin darkened, so she could "pass for black"!), Lorenzo Tucker, and Ruby Elzy NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this still measures 7 3/4" x 9 3/4" [20 x 25 cm], but it has not been trimmed. Also note that this is a deluxe still printed on double weight paper stock. Condition: very good. When the text on the back of the right of the still was typed, the typewriter caused indentations that show through to the front, but they are mostly only noticeable when the still is tilted to the light.
