An Original Vintage Unfolded World War II Poster (measures 14" x 22" [36 x 56 cm]) (Learn More) On Guard Against Sabotage, the 1940s U.S. World War II (WWII) Home Front Poster ("Watch Closely"; "Listen Well"; "Guard Speech"; "N.J. Defense Council Trenton Trust Bldg. Room - 1406 Trenton, N.J."; "Contact your local defense council") encouraging citizens to be vigilant and featuring art of a Revolutionary War soldier holding a musket. Note that this is a one of a kind poster that was silk screened by a single artist. It has a stamp in the bottom right that reads "MUSEUM EXTENTION PROJECT WORKS ADMINISTRATION NEW JERSEY", and it was surely created by one of the many artists hired by the WPA! That artist might have created multiple posters with the exact same image, but if so, we would not think many were created. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster is printed on a heavier weight paper stock, similar to that of window cards of this time period. It cannot be rolled and sent in a tube, so it will need to be sent in a large flat package. UPDATED 06/07/2017: Note that we originally had hand-painted in the Auction Title, when hand-created would be more appropriate. This poster was likely silk-screened by hand and not using normal mass printing techniques. Condition: very good. The poster is in pretty nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
