An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (SpanUS 1sh; printed in Spanish in the U.S. for Spanish speaking audiences; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Slattery's Hurricane, the 1949 Andre De Toth Florida post-World War II (WWII) romantic Navy Naval military pilot airplane aviation crime action adventure thriller ("From a story by Herman Wouk"; about a former Navy pilot, who is now a commercial pilot, and while he flies into a hurricane, he reminisces about being a fighter pilot) starring Richard Widmark (in the title role as Lt. Willard Francis Slattery), Linda Darnell, Veronica Lake, John Russell, Gary Merrill, Walter Kingsford, Raymond Greenleaf, Stanley Waxman, and Joseph De Santis. Note that Veronica Lake had been perhaps the number one star of the early 1940s, but her career fizzled in the mid-1940s, and this movie was an attempted "comeback", but the studio had little faith in her, and she was third billed and barely pictured in the advertising. Important Added Info: Note that this one-sheet was printed in the United States for use at theaters with Spanish speaking audiences (this was done most by MGM, starting in the 1930s, but it was done by the other major studios as well, and often the posters would have the exact same image as the English language poster, except the writing would be in Spanish, and on posters from the 1930s and 1940s there would be an added "Toda en Espanol!", meaning "Entirely in Spanish!", printed within the image). Sometimes posters from the 1960s or later will have the word "SPANISH" printed in the bottom border (or sometimes stamped on the back of the poster). Condition: good. There are some pinholes around the edges of the poster. Some of the pinholes are torn or enlarged due to rough removal. There are paint and other stains on the front and back of the poster (some on the back slightly bleed through to the front). There are some pinholes scattered in the image and there is some paper loss in the upper crossfold.
