An Original Vintage Unfolded German Stage Play Poster (measures 23 1/4" x 33" [59 x 84 cm]) (Learn More)

Ein Kafig Voller Narren (La Cage aux Folles), the 1980s German gay homosexual stage play production (written by Herry Herman & Harvey Feirstein, based on the 1973 French play of the same name by Jean Poiret) which was held at the Stadtische Buhnen in Osnabruck, Germany. Note that this poster features art by Wiktor Sadowski! It was commissioned by German theater director Dr. Erdmut August who also created what may be the world's largest international theater poster archive with holdings of 16,000 different posters by many of the world's leading poster artists. Note that the original 1983 Broadway production of La Cage aux Folles received nine nominations for Tony Awards and won six, including Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book.
