An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Panther Girl of the Kongo, the 1955 Franklin Adreon Africa Congo science fiction (sci-fi) jungle action serial ("Horror stalks the jungle!"; "Man-made monsters terrify the jungle"; "Strange monsters invade the jungle!"; "The most exciting serial ever filmed!"; "A Republic Serial in 12 Chapters"; "Written by Ronald Davidson") starring Phyllis Coates (in the title role as the Panther Girl), Myron Healey, Arthur Space, John Daheim (billed as "John Day"), Mike Ragan, and Steve Calvert (in an uncredited role as the man in the gorilla suit). Note that in 1948, Steve Calvert bought Ray 'Crash' Corrigan's gorilla costume, which Corrigan had been using in movies since at least 1932. He appeared in 12 movies between 1948 and 1958 as a gorilla wearing Corrigan's costume! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have seen a full-color version of this title card which makes us think that this may be for a later chapter in the serial. Condition: good to very good. There is a Canadian censor stamp at upper right. The card is otherwise in pretty nice condition.
