It's a spectacle light years ahead of its time from 20th Century Fox."; "Written and Directed by George Lucas"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award) starring Mark Hamill (as Luke Skywalker), Harrison Ford (as Han Solo), Carrie Fisher (as Princess Leia), Peter Cushing (as Grand Moff Tarkin), Alec Guinness (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film; as Obi-Wan Kenobi), Anthony Daniels (as C-3PO), James Earl Jones (as the voice of Darth Vader), David Prowse (billed as "Dave Prowse"; as the man inside the Darth Vader suit!), Peter Mayhew (as Chewbacca), Kenny Baker (as R2-D2), and Phil Brown (as Uncle Owen) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Tom William Chantrell Important Added Info: Note that this poster is from the first continuous release in England in 1978, after the movie won Academy Awards, and because the movie played continuously in England, it is not a re-release! Condition: fair to good. The poster has many creases in the left half of the top border extending down around 1". It has a number of creases in the right half of the top border. It has a 1" tear in the left of the bottom border with creases near it and it has a tear in the bottom right corner that detached a piece from the rest of the poster and it was reattached with tape from the back. But the poster's biggest defect is water staining running along the bottom. It is uneven and it ranges from 1 1/2" to 3". It is very visible from the back of the poster because it has a brownish edge to it at the top of the staining, but it is not very noticeable from the front except where it crosses light-colored areas. This is the kind of poster that responds really well to restoration. It is likely that much or most of the staining across the bottom can be removed chemically, and after proper restoration to the staining and the border defects the poster will display well, but bear in mind the poster's condition and the cost of restoration before bidding on it.
