Date Sold 1/13/2019Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Autographed 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Publicity Still (Learn More) Jay R. Smith was a child actor from the 1920s. He is best known for starring in many Our Gang comedy shorts in the 1920s. Some of his movies include: The Smile Wins, Noisy Noises, and The Fourth Alarm. He left Our Gang in 1929 and retired from movies, and worked in the retail paint business for many years. In his later years, he attended collectible shows where he gave his autograph. In an incredibly sad twist of events, he was murdered in 2002, by a homeless man that he had befriended. He was 87. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Jay R. Smith! Also note that many celebrities kept multiple 8" x 10" (or smaller) copies of good publicity images of themselves to sign for fans, and also many memorabilia shops sold such copy stills themselves. While they are not original theater-used stills, they are usually excellent clear copies, with a great shot of that celebrity in their heyday, which, when signed by the celebrity, makes for a wonderful framed picture on any fan's wall! As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes. Condition: very good to fine. Learn More about condition grades
