Important Added Info: Note that this is a "stock" poster created by Guaranteed Pictures for use by theaters showing re-releases of 1930s Smith Ballew movies in the 1940s. Theaters would order this poster, which had a large blank rectangle at the bottom. Sometimes the studio would overprint the stock poster with the title of a specific movie, and sometimes they sent a series of large paper snipes with the titles of specific entries of the series, so the theater could paste in each snipe as needed, thus getting many posters for the price of one. Sometimes stock posters are found with blank snipe areas. Most collectors consider them more valuable with a printed snipe attached, or with an overprinted snipe area. Also note that, because this is a stock three-sheet that was created for Smith Ballew movies, co-star Lou Gehrig is not pictured on this poster (although he is listed in the credits)! This three-sheet was printed in 2 sections. Condition: fair to good. There is some darkening and light water staining scattered on parts of the folds. There are some creases and several tears along the foldlines that were on the outside when the poster was fully folded. There are some creases, smudges, and tiny tears on the other foldlines, and some tiny paper loss at some crossfolds. Learn More about condition grades
