An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) The Midshipman, the 1925 Christy Cabanne silent military Navy Naval Academy romantic love triangle melodrama ("Story by Carey Wilson"; about a very honorable upperclassman in the Naval Academy who gets involved with the sister of a plebe, and he also innocently gets mixed in a scandal, but everything works out in the end) starring Ramon Novarro, Harriet Hammond, Wesley Barry, Margaret Seddon, Crauford Kent, and William Boyd (as "Spud"; in one of his earliest credited movie roles!) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had some tears and paper loss scattered in the middle of the poster, with paper loss in Novarro's cheek and chin, and with a tear running through the right edge of his left eye. There were some small areas of paper loss in the blue background to the left and right of Novarro's cheeks, and small paper loss in the neck of his uniform. There were pinholes and small paper loss around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The legendary restorer Igor Edelman performed wonderful restoration to this poster when it was discovered in 1993, and it displays fantastically! Learn More about condition grades
