An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More)

The Son of Tarzan, the 1920 Arthur J. Flaven & Harry Revier silent adventure serial sequel ("World's wonder jungle serial from the novel of the same name by Edgar Rice Burroughs"; "World Rights Controlled by David P. Howells"; it picks up the Tarzan story after Tarzan and Jane, living in England, have a son, and he is kidnapped as a boy by an evil Russian, and is taken to the jungle where he is helped by an intelligent ape, and Tarzan does not rescue him until he is full grown!) starring P. Dempsey Tabler (in the title role as Lord Greystoke/Tarzan), Karla Schramm (as Lady Greystoke/Jane), Gordon Griffith (in the title role as the son of Tarzan, as a boy), Kamuela C. Searle (as the son of Tarzan, grown up), Mae Giraci (as Meriem as a girl), Manilla Martan (as Meriem as a young woman), and Eugene Burr (as Ivan Paulovich). Apparently, this movie was pretty faithful to the novel, even down to using the same character names from the book, with Tarzan's son being called Korak and his Russian kidnapper being named Paulovich, as he was in the book.

Important Added Info: Note that first release movie paper from this early Tarzan serial is mostly extremely rare. Several years ago, we were consigned an amazing find of many lobby cards from all the chapters, but we had never auctioned even a single still until we were consigned two excellent ones, which we are currently auctioning in two separate auctions.

UPDATED 02/09/2017: Note that this still is from the first release in 1920, and not 1939 as the Auction Title incorrectly mentioned.

Condition: good to very good. There are many tiny dot stains scattered throughout the still, but they are mostly only noticeable when the still is tilted to the light.
