An Original Vintage Theatrical Chapter #2 ("The House on the Hill") Movie Lobby Card (measures 11" x 14") (Learn More)

The Return of Chandu (The Magician), the 1934 Ray Taylor black magic fantasy horror serial sequel ("He's back! The Master of Magic and Thrills"; "with a Distinguished Cast") starring Bela Lugosi (in the title role as Chandu), Maria Alba, Murdock MacQuarrie, Phyllis Ludwig, and Clara Kimball Young. Note that Chandu the Magician was a radio show that started airing in Los Angeles in 1931, and went nationwide the following year. That was also when a movie adaptation, called Chandu the Magician, was made. Two years later, this sequel, The Return of Chandu, was made, and this time, Bela Lugosi played the lead role, after having a supporting role in the prequel. The show went off the air in 1936. It was revived in 1948 as a 15 minute show and ran for two years.

Important Added Info: Note that this lobby card will be sent in one of our standard mailing packages.

Condition: good to very good. There are pinholes and smudges around the edges of the card. There is a weird uneven lightening of the image over the woman at right, and to the area to the right of her, and it may be a printing defect, it may be intentional in the printing, or it may be some kind of weird smudges. Please do not bid on this card unless you can accept the uncertainty about this area. Please assume that it IS a defect!

IN THIS SPECIAL HALLOWEEN AUCTION, we have given a more detailed overall condition grade along with more details about the condition described in words. Of course, we could not describe every single defect, plus there are some defects (like separation on folds, tape on the back, extremely tiny pinholes, etc) which can be VERY difficult to see, even in our largest "super-sized" image. Therefore we strongly recommend that you BOTH read our written description of the item, AND ALSO look at our super-sized image to see the extent of the defects that we describe and to examine the poster for minor defects that we did NOT describe.
