Appears in Vintage Hollywood Posters 7 CATALOG SOLD OUT The image at right appears in the auction catalog we published as shown above and was sold long ago and we do NOT have it available for purchase. An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36") (Learn More) Irving Berlin's White Christmas, the classic 1954 Michael Curtiz post-World War II sisters holiday singing-and-dancing romantic musical (with classic "Lyrics and music by Irving Berlin"; "The most fabulous music-and-mirth show in motion picture history!"; "Joyous entertainment for every season, any year!!!!") starring Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney, Vera-Ellen, and Dean Jagger. Note that this was the first motion picture to be filmed in VistaVision! Also note that the title song "White Christmas" was first introduced in 1942 in the Fred Astaire/Bing Crosby movie "Holiday Inn", and it proved to be so popular that this movie was made, utilizing part of the plot of that earlier film, and reusing this song, which was now over a decade old, but it proved to be an even greater hit! Condition: very good to fine. a 2" clean tear in the left center of the image starting in Crosby's hat and extending down his cheek (it was repaired with tape from the back and is truly not very noticeable); two small tears in the left border (the upper one just extends into the edge of the image); there is a mark over the NSS number at lower right and a new NSS number is stamped in the lower right corner (note that this is the original insert, but that it was re-used for a re-release, and the new number was stamped on for use at that time); there are four pieces of masking tape on the back of the poster in the corners but they do not affect the front; some faint smudges and creases around the edges of the poster. Note that the poster was never folded in the regular way, but that it has two slightly diagonal horizontal folds near the middle of the poster. Note that the poster is in better condition than the above makes it sound! Its only real defect is the tear that extends into Crosby's face, and that is not really distracting (and of course it could be slightly touched up by a talented restorer without backing the poster).
