An Undated (probably 1965) Re-release Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Funny Face, the 1957 Stanley Donen New York City Paris France romantic musical comedy ("Presented in a real new dimension in motion picture entertainment."; "Written by Leonard Gershe"; "Music and Lyrics George & Ira Gershwin"; "Choreography by Eugene Loring & Fred Astaire"; Hepburn is a worker in a bookstore who is discovered by a much older Fred Astaire) starring Audrey Hepburn, Fred Astaire, Kay Thompson, Michel Auclair, Robert Flemyng, and Dovima NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that after Hepburn's huge success in MY FAIR LADY, Paramount re-released FUNNY FACE with a similar ad campaign to the original, but the posters had a pink background. None of the items give a re-release date, but two tell-tale signs of the re-release are that it is identified on some of the advertising as "A Paramount All Time Greatest Production!", and that a tagline on some of the advertising includes the phrase "...she's the fairest lady of all!", a direct reference to MY FAIR LADY. Sometimes, items from this undated re-release have been unknowingly sold as being from the original 1957 release, because they are undated and from Paramount, the original releasing studio. Condition: fair to good. The poster had a 4" x 1/2" area of paper loss at the middle crossfold and some creases, scuffs, and tiny areas of paper loss on parts of other foldlines. There was a slightly diagonal crease running above the bottom foldline. There were pinholes, creases, and tears in the borders. Overall, the poster was in fair to good condition prior to linenbacking. Given the many defects, the poster was fairly well backed, but you can clearly see the restoration in the center of the poster and on the foldlines, and it is noticeable and distracting, and there has been paint restoration scattered in the large close up of Hepburn.
