Date Sold 2/4/2018 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 2 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie 8" x 11" [20 x 28 cm] Key Book Stills (Learn More) Buster's Bust-Up, the 1925 Gus Meins silent comedy short (produced by Abe & Julius Stern; based on the extremely popular newspaper strip cartoon characters by Richard F. Outcault) starring Arthur Trimble (in the title role as Buster Brown), Doreen Turner, and Pete the Dog (as Tige). Note that Pete the Dog played Tige in all the Buster Brown movies starting in 1924. He also became Pete the Pup in the Our Gang movies, and he played that role until 1931, appearing in an amazing 90 movies over those seven years. Supposedly, he lived for another 15 years after he retired! Also note that the Stern Brothers were a very energetic pair of producers who made over 500 silent comedy shorts between 1917 and 1929! Finally, note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that these stills have been mounted to a linen type material and have an extra 1" at the top or left of the still, along with punch holes in that extra area (typical of many key book stills). Condition: good to very good. Both have writing in the lower blank border (they were used as advertisements for a Kodak Library rental). They are otherwise in pretty nice condition.
