Pour Le Retour Du Soldat Vainqueur (literally translates to "For The Return of the Victorious Soldier"), the 1918 French World War I (WWI) War Bond poster (with a tagline that translate to "Subscribe At the North Credit") encouraging people to help the war efforts, and featuring Jacques Carlu artwork of a smiling soldier with his family.

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had small paper loss in the child's arm at top center and some paper loss in the right of the top blank border, and paper loss and tears in the right blank border. It has some creases and tiny tears on parts of some folds and some creases not in the regular folds. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. Someone many years ago backed the poster onto thin linen with no excess and no restoration, and it surely should be removed from that thin linen and properly re-backed. Please bear this in mind before placing a bid on this poster.
