St. Louis Blues, the 1939 Raoul Walsh Missouri Mississippi River riverboat romantic musical comedy ("It's romance in swingtime along the Mississippi"; "Based on an Adaptation by Fredrick Hazlitt Brennan of a Story by Eleanore Griffith and William Rankin"; essentially, Dorothy Lamour plays a parody of herself; she is a Broadway star who has made a career of playing girls wearing sarongs, and she goes to St. Louis and gets work on a Mississippi river boat) starring Dorothy Lamour, Lloyd Nolan, Tito Guizar, Jerome Cowan, Jessie Ralph, William Frawley, Mary 'Punkins' Parker, Maxine Sullivan, Cliff Nazarro, The King's Men, and Matty Malneck & His Orchestra
