The Biscuit Eater, the 1940 Stuart Heisler boy-and-his-beloved-dog juvenile melodrama ("A picture as human and heart-filling as the love of a boy for a dog! - from James Street's beloved Saturday Evening Post story!"; "Based on a Story by James Street") starring Billy Lee, Cordell Hickman (he was a black African American child actor who started at the very end of the Our Gang series, and he made a few more film appearances before he retired, likely due to adolescence), Helene Millard, Richard Lane, Lester Matthews, Fred 'Snowflake' Toones (billed as "Snowflake"), Viola Davis, and Tiverton Invader (as Promise, the dog!)
