Date Sold 12/21/2021Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) Tumbling River, the 1927 Lewis Seiler silent romantic cowboy western ("The Old West In All Its Glory"; "From 'The Scourge of the Little C' by J. Egrinstead"; not only does Tom Mix save his girlfriend from a gang of cattle rustlers who have kidnapped her and from a raging river that they threw her in, but he also has to rescue Tony, who is stolen by the rustlers!) starring Tom Mix, Tony ("The Wonder Horse"), Dorothy Dwan, Wallace MacDonald, William Conklin, and Estella Essex. Note that, as happened with many other major action movies, this movie had a tragedy associated with it. The river rescue scene was filmed on California's Merced River, and a stuntwoman, 22 year-old Ethel Hall, was used in the sequence, and she drowned during the filming. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: very good. Learn More about condition grades
