1928-1967 Che Guevara, the 2007 Polish poster featuring art of the Argentinean revolutionary Che Guevara by Ela Wojciechowska. Ernesto "Che" Guevara was an Argentine Marxist revolutionary, physician, author, guerrilla leader, diplomat and military theorist. A major figure of the Cuban Revolution, his stylized visage has become a ubiquitous counter-cultural symbol of rebellion and global insignia in popular culture. He was killed in Bolivia in 1967, and remains both a revered and reviled historical figure, polarized in the collective imagination in a multitude of biographies, memoirs, essays, documentaries, songs and films. A photo of him taken by Alberto Korda titled Guerrillero Heroico (Heroic Guerrilla Fighter), has been called "the most famous photograph in the world".
