An Original Vintage Spanish Campaign Book (measures 13" x 13" [33 x 33 cm]; contains 8 color "pages" that measure 12 1/2" x 12 1/2"; see below and see our images) (Learn More) Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer 1927-28, the 1927 Spanish campaign book featuring images of MGM's top stars for the movies they would be about to distribute in Spain during the 1927-28 season. This is a very unusual campaign book! It consists of a stiff folder that opens in the middle, and inside are eight plates, each with a top MGM star. In each case, there is a 12 1/2" x 12 3/4" page that has the name of the star at the bottom, and a printed full-color image of that star tipped-in to the middle of that page, most with signed art by top artists of that time, including Roland Coudon. This book is surely incredibly rare! Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this Spanish campaign book. We have previously auctioned the U.S. version, which is completely different from this, and we are currently auctioning one of those in a separate auction. Condition: very good. Some of the plates have some minor wear, as does the stiff cover, but otherwise, it is in nice condition, and has probably survived in about as good condition as one could hope!
