A Group of 2 Original Vintage Theatrical Italian Movie Standees (each measures 13 1/2" x 19" [34 x 48 cm]) (Learn More) Raintree County, the 1957 Edward Dmytryk Civil War romantic love triangle melodrama ("MGM presents in MGM Camera 65 'Window of the World' 'Raintree County' In the great tradition of Civil War romance"; "Based on the Novel by Ross Lockridge Jr."; about a man trapped in a loveless marriage, and he gets reacquainted with his childhood sweetheart, set against the backdrop of the Civil War) starring Montgomery Clift, Elizabeth Taylor (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Eva Marie Saint, Nigel Patrick, Lee Marvin, Rod Taylor, Agnes Moorehead, Walter Abel, Jarma Lewis, and Tom Drake. Note that during filming, Montgomery Clift was in a horrific car accident after leaving Elizabeth Taylor's house one evening (she and Rock Hudson reportedly pulled him from the wreck, and Taylor saved him from choking on his own teeth!). Sadly, despite several surgeries to his face, Clift's injuries were still visible, and his health deteriorated after the crash. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Wallace Bassford Important Added Info: Note that these are extremely rare special standees that were created for this movie, each of which has a "3D picture frame" around all four sides. They are extremely scarce, and we are currently auctioning two of the set of three that were created. Condition: good. Neither standee was used, because the standee backing is intact on both. The one of Taylor was folded across the bottom 4" and there is surface paper loss along that fold. There is another partial horizontal fold in the upper left going into Taylor's hair, with a few creases and scuffs scattered in the standee. The one of Eva Marie Saint has a fold with surface paper loss going through her face by her eyebrows (see our image). Learn More about condition grades
