An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Special Movie Poster (printed in Spanish in the U.S. for Spanish speaking audiences; 15 1/2" x 22") (Learn More) Singin' in the Rain, the classic 1952 Stanley Donen & Gene Kelly romantic musical comedy (considered by most the best musical of all time!; "What a glorious feeling"; "MGM's Technicolor Musical Treasure!"; "Suggested by the song 'Singin' In the Rain'"; about a Hollywood movie studio in the late 1920s that wants to begin making sound pictures, but their top leading lady has a dreadful voice, plus they have great difficulties adapting to the sound equipment; pretty young Debbie Reynolds comes along to dub in the singing voice of the primadonna leading lady, played to perfection by Jean Hagen) starring Gene Kelly (as Don Lockwood), Donald O'Connor (as Cosmo Brown), Debbie Reynolds (as Kathy Selden), Jean Hagen (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film; as Lina Lamont), Millard Mitchell (as R.F. Simpson), and Cyd Charisse (unnamed, only referred to as "Dancer"). Note that this greatest of all Hollywood musicals had an odd beginning! The title song had been sung in "The Hollywood Revue of 1929" by Cliff Edwards, and that inspired this movie, and in addition, the song "Make 'Em Laugh" was basically plagiarized from "Be a Clown", from "The Pirate"! Important Added Info: Note that this poster was printed in the United States for use at theaters with Spanish speaking audiences. Condition: good to very good. The poster was never folded. There were many small tears, creases, and smudges around the edges of the poster. There were more down the right border, and a couple went into the "N" of "EN" in the title area and the longest tear went into the "A" of "LLUVIA" in the title area. There were smaller tears in the rest of the right border, including one in O'Connor's hand. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking.
