An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" English [20 x 25 cm] Movie Title Lobby Card (Learn More) The Virigin of Stamboul, the 1920 Tod Browning silent romantic harem melodrama (from the story by H.H. Van Loan; about a Turkish sheik who has many wives, and catches one cheating on him, and he murders her, and he kidnaps an American woman and makes her his new bride, but fortunately, her boyfriend bravely rescues her) starring Priscilla Dean, Eugenie Forde, Wheeler Oakman, Wallace Beery (as a sheik!), Clyde Benson, and E. Alyn Warren NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have never previously auctioned anything from this movie until we received this English 8x10 title card! We are also currently auctioning a English 8x10 scene card in a separate auction. Note that, in the early days of movie making, when lobby cards were first made (around 1915), studios would issue sets of the cards in two sizes; the regular 11" x 14" size, and a smaller 8" x 10" size. The cards were identical in every way except for the different size. This practice continued through the early 1920s, at which point the studios abandoned the smaller lobby cards, likely because theaters either ordered 11" x 14" lobby cards or 8" x 10" stills, and did not order enough of the 8" x 10" lobby cards to justify them continuing to make them. Condition: good to very good. There is a small tear in the right of the bottom border, a pinhole in each corner, with some faint smudges and scuffs scattered throughout.
