McGowan silent adventure serial (from the story by Jacques Jaccard, Hope Loring, and Milton Moore) starring Eddie Polo, Thelma Percy, C. Norman Hammond, Laura Oakley, and Ray Ripley NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that the French/Dutch titles on this Belgian poster translate to The King Of Audacity/The King Of Glory. Based on newspaper theater ads, we know that this film was shown in Belgium in 1921, and some resources claim that Eddie was playing his character Cyclone Smith and that the director was Jacques Jaccard. Regrettably, this does not identify the film because Jaccard directed Polo as Cyclone Smith in multiple films. However, a knowledgeable collector has now told us that it is promoting the 1921 Belgian first release of The Vanishing Dagger. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had darkened on the folds and it had some tiny bits of paper loss on parts of the folds and some tiny tears around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. Learn More about condition grades
