An Unfolded Canadian Music Poster (measures 16 1/2" x 24 3/4" [42 x 63 cm]) (Learn More) The Mothers of Invention, who were an American rock 'n' roll (rock and roll) band from 1965 into the 1970s. Originally a band called "The Soul Giants" (with Ray Collins, David Coronado, Roy Estrada and Jimmy Carl Black), they invited Frank Zappa to join the band in 1965, which he agreed to do if they would perform his original music, and on Mother's Day, they changed their name to "The Mothers", which, for legal reasons, was quickly changed to "The Mothers of Invention". They are one of the best remembered bands of the 1960s. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: UPDATED 11/16/2020: Note that a knowledgeable collector tells us that the concerts took place in 1975, and this poster may be a commercial poster printed after the events. Please keep this uncertainty in mind when bidding. Condition: very good. The poster has some creases along the lower edge. It has never been folded and it is otherwise in pretty nice condition.
